Proctortrack Canada Celebrates October’s CyberSecurity Awareness Month with PIPEDA and FIPPA Compliances

Toronto, – October 23, 2023 – Proctortrack Canada celebrates October’s 20th Annual Cybersecurity Awareness Month with a strong commitment to data privacy and security by complete compliance with PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) and FIPPA (Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act).

PIPEDA (Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act) is the legal framework under this act in Canada that governs private organizations’ collection, use, and disclosure of personal information. PIPEDA compliance matters as it safeguards an individual’s privacy, fostering trust in digital transactions. This act ensures responsible data management, respecting individual rights in an increasingly data-centric landscape.

FIPPA ( Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act) is a Canadian provincial law that governs public access to government records and the protection of personal privacy. It mandates transparency while safeguarding individuals’ private information held by public institutions.

In 2020, Proctortrack developed a unique awareness program called #CyberSecuritySmart for internal and external users of Proctortrack, emphasizing the critical role of digital security in our interconnected world. It serves as a reminder for businesses and individuals to prioritize safeguarding sensitive information.

Keeping in line with #CyberSecuritySmart, Proctortrack has always been proactive in its privacy and security-centric approach by meeting the following security and data compliance programs:

  • Canada: PIPEDA and FIPPA Certifications
  • USA: SOC2 Type 2, FERPA, and ADA Certifications
  • Europe: GDPR, Privacy Shield Certifications & BBB National Programs’ Data Privacy
  • Global: ISO-27001 Certification

“During Cybersecurity Awareness month, Proctortrack reaffirms its commitment to data privacy and security by complying with Canada’s PIPEDA and FIPPA. These frameworks are vital for fostering trust in digital transactions and ensuring responsible data management, which aligns with Proctortrack’s dedication to respecting Canadian’s individual rights in our increasingly data-centric landscape,” says Allan James, VP Executive, Proctortrack Canada.
